We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant . This position assists with routine legal issues, completes and edits documents, drafts correspondence, and handles document/contract closings, in addition to many clerical duties. Applicant must be extremely detail oriented and able to effectively multitask in a very fast paced environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assists attorneys with completing and editing documents including contracts, contract proposals, cover letters, and miscellaneous correspondence
  • Organizes and manages transaction “closings” and document productions for litigation
  • Organizes and maintains filing systems for litigation and transactional files
  • Coordinates outside attorney services (e.g., interfaces and manages messengers, court filing services and other third party providers of legal assistance services)
  • Prepares letters, reports and other materials; files documents with appropriate entities in accordance with legal requirements
  • Coordinate and assist in special projects and departmental activities
  • Screens calls and takes messages
  • Schedules appointments and may make travel arrangements
  • Coordinates office meetings and prepares meeting agenda
  • Performs other administrative and clerical duties for the legal department as assigned
Required Qualifications:

· Familiarity with applications including immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions including working visas (H-1B, L-1, TN), labor certification/permanent residence, employment based petitions a plus
• Team Player

• Must be able to effectively multitask in a very fast paced environment
• Extremely organized and deadline oriented
• Enthusiastic and engaging
• Good listener
• Must be able to think through processes and come to a resolution
• Familiar with legal terminology (litigation and corporate)
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications
• Must be efficient with all office equipment; copy machine, fax, telephone etc.

Minimum Experience required:
• 3 to 6 years experience in related field
• Previous experience working in teams on complex document closings (such as a mortgage loan processor) will be very helpful
• Notary public certification preferred

Language Skills:
Chinese (Mandarin) speaking and writing skills a plus
