Be part of the team of Legal and Compliance function in the North American Region – providing support on all legal, compliance and regulatory matters in the region in co-operation and alignment with the rest of the Legal & Compliance team, Contract Management and other relevant stakeholders.
Main Responsibility Area
Work on diverse legal and business issues that require good judgment, flexibility, and critical thinking with a practical and business-friendly approach. Provide leadership for work teams or task forces in broad functional/process areas to solve complex and diverse issues. Integrate the delivery of client service (internal and /or external clients) by multiple work groups to ensure that current and evolving client needs are met. Apply broad and in depth business management knowledge to resolve multi-discipline or multi-functional/process problems. Resolve conflicts between work teams over resource allocation and other critical issues.
Provide effective and practical legal and regulatory advice to the business on a wide range of contract, IP, privacy, data protection and other legal issues as needed and support in all general, commercial and transactional matters in a fast-paced, demanding sales environment.
Draft, review and negotiate various complex contracts working collaboratively with the business and operations teams.
Conduct risk analysis and provide advise and counsel to business owners and management.
Provide trainings to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies and develop local company policies and processes as needed.
Cooperate with Legal & Compliance teams based in other countries.
Some travel will be required.
Excellent academic background with a J.D. law degree from a top university with at least 7-10 years experience in the high tech/IT and/or telecommunications industries and membership in at least one state bar.
Good mixture of private practice and in-house experience and well-versed in the relevant laws and regulations.
Excellent communicator and diplomatic negotiator.
Exceptional business and legal acumen, ability to identify and diagnose legal problems and articulate creative and practical solutions and alternatives.
Desire and ability to work as part of a team with a can-do attitude.
Strong analytical, drafting and interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks, often in a time-sensitive and extremely fast-paced environment.
Ability to establish self as subject matter expert in specialty field.
