Hiring salary dependent upon qualifications.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of legal-clerical and clerical duties requiring an understanding of all functions of the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. Work involves independently preparing routine correspondence and compiling information for records, reports, documents, and correspondence. Work also involves considerable public contact in providing legal information to attorneys, law enforcement and court personnel, as well as to the public. Employee must exercise independent judgment, confidentiality and initiative in completing assignments. Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with the public. Reports to the Legal Assistant.

Qualifications:
Graduation from a two-year college or vocational/technical school with major course work in legal secretarial science, and 1 to 2 years experience in secretarial work, preferably in a legal setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
