POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client, a prestigious Top 10 AM Law Firm with offices around the world, has an immediate opening for a highly-technical Legal Technology Technical Coordinator within their Legal Technology Department, headquartered in Manhattan, New York.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Firm's Legal Technology software. Works with the Legal Technology Development and Support Manager, Legal Technology Technical Specialist Manager, Legal Technology Consultants, IT Staff and other departmental managers to develop technical solutions to meet the Firm’s needs. Develops procedures for creating and maintaining databases using the Firm's Legal Technology software suite.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinates with Project Coordinators in NY and other offices to meet technology requirements of Legal Technology projects.

Develops application specific solutions to case and Firm requirements.

Prepares analysis of processes, systems and applications and provides recommendations for improving them.

Develops and executes short term and long-term plans for implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems in line with guidelines set by the IT department.

Assists with the resolution of technical issues involving Legal Technology supported applications.

Provides guidance in the resolution of technical problems.

Designs and develops data conversion utilities as needed.

Load data from various formats into and out of the Firm's Legal Technology databases.

Evaluates software and hardware and makes recommendations.

Researches latest technology trends both in the legal market and outside of it.

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clients, attorneys and staff.

Provides statistics regarding and monitors system usage.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES

Thorough working knowledge or job related computer software, i.e. imaging, database and Web technology.

Knowledge of EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) and its application in a law firm environment.

Knowledge of programming principles.

Knowledge of SQL databases and queries.

Knowledge of project management methodology.

Knowledge of Citrix or Terminal Server a plus.

Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with all levels of personnel.

Ability to perform duties which require considerable judgment and initiative without immediate supervision.

Attention to detail; organizational skills; ability to delegate and prioritize.

Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills.

Ability maintain composure, and work well under pressure.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.

Deals courteously/effectively with others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree, perferably in a computer science-related major.

Three years Law Firm, Corporate or related eDiscovery experience.

Strong working knowledge of SQL databases and queries.
