Summary – The Lending Specialist is responsible for reviewing funded direct and indirect loans to ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations. This position is also responsible for preparing home equity and business loan closing documents and sending out all regulatory disclosures. Responsible for the lien placement for secured loans to ensure the Credit Union is properly protected

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned.

Provide continuous communication with managers and front line to ensure all processes and procedures are being met to secure our lien position (consumer, home equity and business) including monthly reporting on the outstanding liens.

Process lien filings for all collateral, discharge liens on paid in full loans/mortgages and HMDA reporting to ensure compliance. Assist members with claims for their insurance products.

Prepare and track mortgage recordings, secured titles and UCC filings for the appropriate County or State to ensure our liens are in compliance. Maintain a lien filing process and vault storage for Out of State titles.

Assist team in creating and properly applying processes according to applicable policies and guidelines to ensure the department is running efficiently and effectively and to ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations.

Continuously analyze processes and procedures and proactively identify, recommend, and implement solutions to ensure efficient and effective processes support the day to day operations.

Input consumer and business loan applications accurately and efficiently to ensure timely lending decisions are made.

Prepare and image all necessary loan documentation to ensure lending requests are timely, accurate and according to procedures/policies.

Send all insurance documentation for funded loans to appropriate parties to ensure CCCU secured loans are property insured.

Communicate with approved outside third parties to ensure compliance with flood certifications, appraisals and titles.

Assist in tracking delinquent taxes on home equity loans and provide feedback on loan reviews to assist with loss mitigation.

Process refunding premiums and/or claim payments to appropriate loan account to appropriately assist members who need assistance with insurance products (credit life, disability, debt protection, GAP, Mechanical Breakdown Coverage, etc).

Process maturity date notifications and follow up communications for loans (consumer, home equity, business) that are near maturity or have matured to offer additional loan options and/or ensure loans are closed after the draw period.

Prepare monthly reports on lending statistics including but not limited to: consumer, indirect, home equity and business loans, lending exceptions, titles, mortgages, and other related reports. Process and complete HMDA reports monthly to ensure we are in compliance

Education :

Equivalent to a high school education

Experience :

One year of related experience in a customer oriented field.

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the financial industry

General knowledge of the Credit Union’s product and services

Understanding of State and Federal regulations (including but not limited to: Reg Z (Truth in Lending), Reg. B (Equal Credit Opportunity), and other lending regulations.

Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and phone communication skills

Demonstrated analytical, decision making and mathematical skills

Personal computer skills including ability to use Word and calculator. Excel preferred.
