ASRC Primus, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal,
is currently seeking a Temporary Public Information Center & Reference Librarian in Philadelphia, PA. This role will be 40 hours per week for approximately 2-3 months.
For this short term 2-3 month position candidate will gain work experience in support of library programs at the EPA. Provide reference services including basic environmental and agency information, as well complex research for patrons of the U. S. EPA Region 3 Public Information Center (PIC). Track daily statistics and provide a monthly report of relevant activities, monitor developments related to PIC operations, evaluates their impact and make recommendations as necessary . Provide support to the EPA Customer Service Hotline by answering phones and providing patrons with clear and concise information relevant to their needs
- US Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain a clearance.
- Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or Bachelors Degree and two plus years professional work experience in a library setting
- Physical demands include: full range of arm movement, e.g., lifting above the head, ability to do data entry for long periods of time, ability to sit for long periods of time, usage of step or regular ladders to reach higher shelves, ability to lift at least 40 pounds in weight on a near daily basis, pushing or pulling 160 pounds on a cart, and the abilities to bend, stoop, and kneel.
