This position provides front line management of circulation services and supervision of staff in a team-based environment by coordinating the provision of excellent services to all library users. Manages all aspects of circulation and reserve services, including operation of automated circulation system, patron assistance, handling of fines and other library charges, and stacks maintenance. Prepares routine reports, statistics, and other projects as needed. Recommends, documents, and communicates policies and procedures of the Department.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college and at least two years of directly related library experience is required. In lieu of a degree, six years of experience--with at least 2 of those being directly related library experience and the remainder in customer service or administrative support--will be considered. In addition, previous work experience in a technology rich environment is essential. Must have the ability to perform detailed work efficiently and accurately and have advanced knowledge of an integrated library system and Microsoft Office. Documented oral and written communication and customer service skills are essential. Previous supervisor experience is desirable. Microsoft Word and Excel tests are required.
