Classification: MEA-ESP, Pay Band S

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Pay Range: $12.00 – 13.00 Based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

Part-Time; 10-15 hours per week dependent upon need within the area; weekend & evening hours required; some flexing of hours & schedule may be required by College administration to meet need.

JOB SUMMARY: Provides support for College Library functions & SC4 students, faculty, and staff, primarily at the Circulation Desk.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the Library with circulation functions, maintenance, and upkeep of various collections.

Checks-out and checks-in materials and equipment.

Assists faculty and students using Library services and resources.

Assists in the operation of area equipment including computers, photocopiers, adaptive equipment and software, AV equipment and software, etc.

Performs receptionist duties, which may include, but not limited to, telephone contacts, student questions, typing assignments, mail distribution, and filing.

Uses the College Library’s administrative software package for circulation transactions, information requests, etc.

Uses the College’s administrative software package for inquiry, data input.

Assists in security of facilities, supplies, and equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervised by the Director of Library Services.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: Provides guidance to work-study students (when present).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate's Degree with two years full-time equated experience in related area required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
40 wpm keyboarding speed

Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communications skills.

Basic MS Office application software skills.

Basic knowledge and skills to set-up operate equipment and specialized software not commonly utilized by other positions.

Ability to bend, stoop, reach, walk and stand with no difficulty.

PROFESSIONAL/PERSONAL QUALITIES:
Customer service orientation with ability to work with a variety of people and problem situations.

Maintains high level of confidentiality.

Capable of handling multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and ability to work independently.

Must possess problem-solving, critical thinking and/or conflict resolution skills.
