Position Title: Library Technician
Description: PTFS, a privately owned, Maryland-based company providing digital archiving and library solutions, as well as professional services including digitization, library staffing, and integration services, has an immediate opening for a short-term part-time Library Technician at a client site in the Washington, DC metro area.
The Library Technician will be responsible for shelving and shifting collection(s).
The candidate must have 1 years experience as a Library Technician or Library Assistant. The candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. The candidate must have experience shelving and shifting collections.
The candidate should be diplomatic and responsive to customer requests, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently with minimal direction. Good interpersonal communications skills and the ability to work well as a team member are necessary. The ability to work effectively at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, and the ability to read and assimilate information rapidly and use it to make timely and accurate decisions is required.
Candidate must be physically capable of repeatedly lifting 10-25lbs and pushing a loaded library cart
Min High School Diploma; Additional education preferred.
