The Licensed Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for originating first mortgage loans by establishing successful relationships with 3rd parties including Realtors, Builders, Financial Professionals, and the general public within a designated territory surrounding credit union offices. The incumbent will make cold calls, follow-up leads (especially with Credit Union SEG and Payroll Groups) and will respond to all clients inquire by telephone, face-to-face and the internet for appointments outside of normal credit union business hours. This is a base salary plus commission position with unlimited earnings potential.
Job Description and Primary Responsibilities
When a credit union employee uncovers a need for mortgage expertise, the Sales Consultant will be the point of contact. Sales Consultants will partner with the Lending Specialist in delivering customized education and training specific to the mortgage.
Be available for referrals. The Sales Consultant will be available by phone or in person to help members (or potential members) in the branch office when the credit union or home office refers him or her.
Approved Applications: Sales Consultants can help their credit unions when they review the approved loan applications. They can provide a valuable service by helping the credit union maximize loan opportunities and letting a branch employee know if a different product may be available to the member.
Declined Applications: All declined applications must be submitted to Member Advantage Mortgage’s home office, prior to their declination. The declination letter must be issued from a representative of Management. A copy will be faxed to the Sales Consultant. If Member Advantage Mortgage can see an opportunity to offer alternatives to the product the member has applied for, they should use every opportunity to help the member. The Sales Consultant will contact his/her immediate supervisor for assistance.
Participate in Branch Meetings and maintain a positive work environment with the branch. Share success and build teamwork with your credit union.
Participate in Branch Sales Events.
Identify core Cross Sell opportunities back to the credit union. Ask the Manager for what products they are looking to cross sell to their members.
Establish outside referral sources and look for opportunities to bring those relationships into the branch.
Treat your Credit Union like your #1 member and best referral source.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Qualified Candidates MUST be licensed.
2+ years of successful experience mortgage lending residential 1-4 family mortgages.
Enjoys a Team Work environment.
2+ years outside sales experience in mortgage sales and including proven ability to handle multiple tasks, stressful situations with proven successful service outcomes consistent with The Desired Mortgage Experience.
Proven high level of initiative, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability and submission of sales reports in a timely manner.
Experience with technology and enjoys providing service in a team environment, with a proven willingness and desire to serve others.
Positive Attitude a must.
