Licensed Veterinary Technician
The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) has a part-time opening for a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to directly support Veterinarians at our Berman Center veterinary center in Westland. Schedule will include weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: administering medications and vaccines as well as other treatments; treating outpatient and hospitalized animals; assisting in surgery, including administering and monitoring anesthesia as well as preparation and recovery of patients and maintaining surgical equipment; performing procedures such as dentals, laboratory tests, and radiographs; filling and labeling prescriptions; documenting medical records; providing client education; maintaining a clean and sanitary clinic environment; monitoring supplies; and performing administrative tasks.
Candidates must either currently be licensed as an LVT in Michigan or have a license pending from the state of Michigan; maintain a positive work ethic and professional appearance at all times; have good communication skills; work independently with minimal supervision but also be a team player; be detail-oriented; and have basic computer skills.
