- Job Summary: The Life Safety Coordinator manages the planning, establishing, implementing and maintaining of a variety of fire safety and life safety programs to ensure the highest possible degree of safety for hospital patients and staff. Assures Hospital compliance with applicable codes, practices, federal, state and local safety and environmental laws and Joint Commission requirements. Serves as technical expert in fire and life safety matters and provides counsel to hospital departments and personnel.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Fire Protection Engineering or related field. Proven knowledge of all federal, state, Joint Commission and local laws/regulations pertaining to fire/life safety in Healthcare. Ability to read, write and communicate in English required. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Must have between 5-7 years proven experience in healthcare safety management and construction safety management. Certified Healthcare Safety Professional - Fire Safety Management (CHSP-FSM) preferred. Certified Fire Protection Specialist
