DESCRIPTION

The person filling this position will be responsible for ensuring guests have a safe and enjoyable visit to the waterpark. Daily activities will include scanning the assigned zone of protection, assisting or rescuing guests in distress, administering first aid to injured guests, enforcing park policies, cleaning the waterpark, etc.

Lifeguard training courses are hosted at Evergreen Wings & Waves for potential applicants. Each applicant is required to purchase the International Lifeguard Training Program 3E Revised textbook ($33.00) and Special Facilities Lifeguard License ($85.00). Licenses are valid for one year from date of completion.

We anticipate holding a lifeguard class in mid to late May, as well as one other in early June.

  • Applicants must be available to attend all training sessions, as well as New-Hire Orientation (date and time TBD).
DUTIES

  • Adhere to all Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program and Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program standards
  • Adhere to all Evergreen Wings and Waves policies and procedures
  • Provide assistance for any ill or injured guests or distressed swimmers within zone of protection
  • Attend all scheduled in-service trainings
  • Equally and fairly enforce all waterpark rules and policies
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety possible while providing a safe, fun and clean environment
  • Ensure work area is clean and free of trash and debris
  • Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately
  • Monitor and maintain control over queue areas, towers and pools
  • Take appropriate steps in the event of a shutdown due to maintenance, weather or other unplanned events
  • Perform all daily opening, operating and closing procedures within established guidelines
  • Pick up all trash and debris, straighten and clean all chairs and tables, return all tubes and lifejackets to storage areas, and return all equipment to its storage location at the end of each operating day
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by management
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Ellis and Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard license
  • Must be at least 16 years of age at time of licensure
  • Must have excellent swimming skills and at least 20/25 or 20/25 corrected vision
  • Must have good communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of employees and guests in a professional manner
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high level of customer service
  • Ability to manage emergency and high-stress situations
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and appropriate manner
  • Demonstrated responsibility for accuracy and timeliness for work performed
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds during an emergency situation
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
