Job Overview:

This is a Seasonal position to finish our winter season. Full Time or Part Time hours available. Potential for Year Round position. The position starts as soon as possible and will end around the middle of April 2013.

As directed, the person in this position is responsible for execution of the hot foods including meats, fish, poultry, starches and vegetables for the resort restaurant. He/She needs to be able to follow the standardized recipes and ensure that food quality; portioning and presentation reflect the Cascade Resort’s philosophy for fresh, healthful and innovative cuisine.

Essential Functions: · Prepare food according to standardized recipes and Cascade Hotel’s standards. · Plate food in the most appealing way possible and in accordance to our plating guide. · Assists other chefs in the kitchen with preparation of food for the restaurant and banquets. · Follow established health and safety standards.
· Store food items properly to ensure food safety.
· Keep your work area clean.
· Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings.
· Maintain schedule availability to provide the best assistance to the job relate responsibilities.
· Use of various kitchen equipment and tools. · Maintain schedule availability to provide the best assistance to the job related responsibilities to include but not limited to client expectations. · Read, analyze, and follow established policies. · Attend and actively participate in the scheduled meetings. · Maintain complete knowledge of manual systems.

Required Qualifications
· Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· 1+ years of cooking experience in specified area (or other related operation) preferred.
· Additional experience in high volume operation preferred.
· High-end restaurants operation experience preferred.
· Experience in the food and wine industry.
· Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written. 2 nd language preferred.
· Good food preparation skills and able to follow recipes and instructions. Team player with a can-do attitude. · Knowledge of International cuisine as they relate to and are the inspiration for our Vail Cascade Hotel. · Ability to stand for long periods of time. · Knowledge of and ability to use various kitchen equipment. · Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
