Lineman Journeyman Serviceman-24995
Xcel Energy is looking for a Journeyman Serviceman to join our team at our Seagraves location. As a serviceman your primary responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to installation, maintenance and removal of overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. Must be able to climb poles, work on energized conductors and equipment, perform hot stick work on energized high voltage conductors, work in inclement weather, be available for callout work and all other work as outlined in the lineman position. Overtime, on call, and callout are an essential part of this job; the applicant must recognize and accept responsibility for the frequent overtime requirement of this position.
Knowledge of distribution primary feeders, transformer loading and fusing practices will be utilized in the following areas of responsibility: meter sets and their connections, the use of hot line tools, protective devices, fuses, lightning arresters, disconnect switches, breakers, grounding sets, transformers and their connections, and troubleshooting.
This position will require some out of town, overnight travel throughout the territory. Preferably reside witihin the city limits of Seagraves.

High school graduate or equivalent
Technical School Lineman degree is preferred
Completion of an approved apprentice line program is required
Must have good communication and teamwork skills
Requires participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions
Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required
A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times
Must be committed to working safely
Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment
Must live within 20 minutes of Seagraves
