Develop and implement Linux administration standards and procedures.

Implement, maintain and extend system monitoring frameworks.
Support application installation and monitoring solutions.
Coordinate 3rd party services used to support the Linux servers and/or workstations.
Provide reporting as required to senior management.
Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for Linux systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement Linux systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for related file systems, input/output systems, networking, clustering, storage, and applications.
Perform and test system configuration backups and restores to ensure system recovery from error or outage.
Ensure Linux-based systems comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, configuration guidelines, and best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance.
Ensure secure user access and role validation processes.
Create required reports in response to business user needs.
Create Linux shell scripts.
Develop and maintain Linux system documentation
Other projects as assigned by the Systems Manager.
Monitor, test, and tune system performance; preserve and provide system log files as needed.
Recommend and execute modifications to Linux systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Conduct research on Linux-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
