We are currently seeking a senior-level software engineer to develop Linux drivers for advanced PCIe Enterprise Solid State Drives. Responsibilities in this role will include, develop a Linux Driver for our current production PCIe SSD and next Solid State drive research vehicles. Working with hardware development team on architecture and issue found during development. Working with customers to successfully analyze the performance and develop enhancements based on feedback.
Based in Folsom, CA at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Micron is the world’s largest Memory company. We are building a comprehensive Solid State Drive portfolio across SATA, SAS and PCIe. We are currently looking to hire a embedded Linux kernel software engineers for our Ulta Fast PCIe SSD product line. The ideal candidate will have experience writing device drivers and modifying kernels, write bullet proof "C" code while working on multi-threaded/ multi-process systems.
The candidate will work on a small development team which will deliver a Linux driver across multiple Linux Enterprise Server Releases. They will be expected to develop new features, gather performance characterization data and optimize the driver. Recreate issue found in customers systems and develop solutions
Ability to work with a geographically dispersed cross-functional team made up of hardware engineers, manufacturing test
technicians, other software engineers, and managers. Good problem solving skills. Good team player. Quick learner, self-motivated to work independently on designing new software. Good communication, documentation and organizational skills.
The candidate will be part of the introduction of a disruptive technology that will change the Storage Industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical competency
Minimum of 3-5 years of device driver development.
Minimum of 5 years of C and C++ development experience with good understanding of the tools for Linux development
Device driver debugging experience including working with PCI protocol analyzers is a plus.
Good knowledge in scripting languages like Perl/Python/Schell scripting
Proven ability to work independently.
