Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides system administration of all business applications and servers. This includes hardware and software installation, configuration, support, and maintenance for mission-critical and business application environments including production, disaster recovery, development, training, and test environments.
Provides the following support on an ongoing basis:
Application security maintenance
Back-end (database) servers
Middle-tier (application) servers
Front-end (web) servers
Server backup, replication, and recovery
Server configuration per designated security requirements
Server audit generation and review
Server performance analysis and monitoring
System and application sizing
Disaster recovery and high availability planning and testing
User account administration, including assigning access levels per system access requests and password resets
Troubleshooting application problems
Develop, document and distribute production operational procedures
Implement and support projects including updating project plans/managers
Perform day to day supports for customers, and all enterprise servers in a production and pre-production environments
Support and maintain web servers and proxy servers running Spring Source’s Apache. This includes:
Analyze and define server requirements (both physical and virtual) maintain server architecture
Install, harden, test, maintain, upgrade and patch Apache based on documented procedures
Configure and optimize server software
Analyze and monitor server workload, capacity and performance
Diagnose and resolve server problems
Document standard operating procedures and installation guides
Maintain disaster recovery instances
Support and maintain F5’s Big IP hardware to load balance web and middle-tier servers.
Support and maintain Google’s Mini search appliance.
Support and maintain RSynch for file synchronization on the Solaris servers.
Support and maintain Stratigent’s Maxamine on the Solaris servers.
Requires rotational 24x7 on call support
Know and adhere to Company policies, procedures and work rules and demonstrate a strong work ethic
Maintain regular and acceptable attendance
Responsible for completing all assigned training
Stay abreast of advances and trends in technology and general business developments.
Provide innovative ideas and solutions.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or a related field is required.
Experience using Linux is required.
Must be a US Citizen or Current Green Card Holder who is able to pass a Federal Government Background Investigation.
Experience using Sun Solaris is strongly preferred.

Experience using Tomcat Apache, Oracle WebLogic Application Server and JBoss application server is preferred.
