We have an immediate opening for an experienced litigation paralegal supporting a group of very busy litigation attorneys in the Ridgeland, MS office of Butler Snow, a multi-office, regional law firm . Full time position, competitive salary and benefits, great in-house training opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:
Case Manager for complex litigation and document intensive cases

Draft various pleadings, including issue and service of trial, deposition and document subpoenas (state and federal jurisdictions), removals, discovery requests and responses, pro hac vice admissions and scheduling depositions

Work with experts (including productions of related documents, expert reports, etc)

Calendar and manage deadlines

Electronic case filing (ECF) in federal courts

Research (experts, public records, courtlink, case law, etc) utilizing Lexis Nexis

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal and be technologically savvy to be considered for this position. The ideal candidates will possess:

Trial experience and ability to manage a case from cradle to grave including all aspects of preparing case, documents, exhibits, motions in limine , trial notebooks, courtroom and war room, audio/visual equipment, witnesses, etc.

Command of one or more areas of litigation in which the firm practices

Ability to take ownership of projects and complete assignments on time as well as assign projects to assistants, manage and utilize effectively

A significant and substantive working knowledge of the procedures, terminology, and documents relating to complex litigation matters and E-Discovery procedures

Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and summarize case-related documents

Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor under stressful circumstances

Strong organizational, reasoning, and research skills

Good judgment and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

A commitment to consistently putting out excellent work product

Flexibility to travel and work overtime on short notice

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
4 year degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited paralegal program required

At least 3-5 years litigation experience required

Experience in Summation and/or Concordance and Trial Director preferred

Software proficiencies:
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

iManage, Concordance,Summation, FileSite, DAPS, LiveNote, Lexis Nexis/Westlaw, Relativity, and other database retrieval systems
