Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP., has an immediate opening for a litigation paralegal.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Perform a variety of duties including research, investigations, and preparing documents for attorneys according to established policies and procedures by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of first party property defense litigation or sinkhole preferred.
- Prepare initial discovery requests.
- Journal deadlines for responses and monitor for timeliness.
- Prepare discovery responses.
- Prepare deposition summaries.
- Prepare legal documents including, but not limited to motions, briefs, subpoenas, pleadings, chronologies, agreements, deposition and/or trial binders.
- Investigate facts as requested by attorney.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Contribute ideas and strategy based on fact analysis and established law.

- High school diploma plus two or more years of first party property defense or sinkhole related experience and/or training; or combination of both.
- Computer Skills: Must have working knowledge of internet software; Microsoft Word software, and E-Filing experience in Court systems.
