Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary with at least three to five years of experience performing secretarial and administrative duties within a legal office/law firm environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and exceptional client service.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Performs a variety of duties and support for three attorneys.
Knowledge of courts, E-Filing, Excel, Word.
Types, edits and files (at times composes) all correspondence, including letters, memoranda, pleadings, and other documents.
Opens new files, checks conflicts of interest, maintains all client and general files.
Proficiently handles all scheduling for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials, etc.
Communicates effectively with administrative support by apprising of deadlines, attorney travels plans, etc.
Maintains professional appearance and attitude; maintains good public relations with clients; retains confidentiality of attorney-client relationship.
Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
3 - 5+ years of litigation experience
Self-motivated and organized
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness with strong attention to detail
Requires typing speed of 65+ words per minute
Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications, word processing, etc.
