Qualifications & Requirements
The Litigation Support Specialist II will be responsible for performing high level analytical tasks in litigation support. Some of the key skills required for this position include the following:
•Strong project management and analytical skills that were developed in a Litigation Support environment over at least two years, preferably in a law firm.
•Ability to research software applications for E-Discovery process improvement.
•Strong background in database design and management with a focus on Concordance and Opticon. Familiarity with Access and SQL a plus.
•Training users on the basics of Concordance/Opticon, Live Note, and Case Map.
•Ability to document protocols and procedures write or modify script for greater process improvement.
•Extensive experience in vendor management through the submission of detailed processing and production specifications and creation and support of a Review and Production system for in-house cases.
•Ability to multitask, and operate well under time constraints and similar influences. A Litigation Support Specialist II should be methodical and organized.
•Ability to multitask and operate well under time constraints and the pressure of litigation deadlines.
•Above average written and oral communication skills are required, as are the ability to cultivate customer relationships, and relationships with co-workers.
•Knowledge of E-Discovery process and an understanding of industry technology and terminology is a must.
•Ability to work overtime during the week and on weekends.
•Bachelor's Degree preferred, though a combination of associate's degree and commensurate experience will be considered.
This position will receive work and direction from both Litigation Support Managers and Senior Litigation Support Specialists. The Litigation Support analyst will work independently on case projects when necessary. This position is 80% billable.
Essential Job Functions
Support litigation attorneys and legal assistants (Legal Teams) through the processing, review and production phases of E-Discovery. Key job functions include the following:
•Assist Manager and Senior Specialist in basic database maintenance including database design and setup, data loads, quality checking and maintenance of databases.
•Work with Manager and Senior Specialist to design, create, and update databases.
•Provide support for processing and imaging related electronic discovery related projects for both local and outsourced databases.
•Assist Coordinator and Senior Specialist in designing training materials (or supplements to existing materials) tailored to the litigation practice.
•Diagnose and correct system software problems for Litigation Support applications.
•Describe and report system and software problems to vendors for resolution.
•Promote the use of best practices and documented technical solutions for case management.
•Evaluate and test current technologies used in litigation practice.
•Develop in-depth expertise in current K&E litigation-related applications.
•Attend litigation practice group and case team meetings.
