This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, weighing, processing, tattooing, counting and moving livestock from unloading areas to the stunning area. Some skid loader operation may be required. Light maintenance may be performed. Position is responsible for operating in a safe, humane manner while adhering to all Tyson policies; functions performed could affect product safety, legality and quality systems.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
1+ years' experience preferred.
Basic computer skills required.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively with drivers.
Team members may be required to wear hard hat, steel toe boots or hearing protection. The temperature of the work area is seasonal and may reach in excess of 95° F.
Physical Demands & Requirements: Bending: Minimal bending is required depending on the ability to motivate hogs with the Team Members voice. Lifting: Minimal amounts of lifting are required to use the flag. The flag weighs less than 5 pounds. Tattoo hammer is lifted and weighs less than 5 pounds. Push/Pull: Some pushing/pulling maybe required to open and close gates or drag downed hogs and to tattoo hogs; Reaching: Reaching with the flag is required to move hogs as well as to tattoo hogs; Grasping: A full hand grasp is used when holding flags, tattoo hammer and gates; Standing: Team members are required to stand or walk for the entire shift; Force: Minimal force is required for most tasks. Moderate to heavy force may be needed when dragging downed hogs.
None Position-Specific Requirements "This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility, therefore, they will be considered for the opening first. If none of those local Team Members are selected then other Team Members from other locations and external candidates will be given consideration."
This is a rotating shift, must be willing to work variable hours depending on the rotations with other TM's. Will be discussed further during interview.
