REPORTS TO: Vice President - Loan Accounting

Serve as the Business Owner/Product Manager for Loan Accounting throughout all aspects of process and technology development. Through interaction with system users and collaboration with system stakeholders, determine and prioritize needed system features. Primary responsibility for acceptance/approval of all system features developed. Develop and facilitate Loan Accounting technology training, create appropriate product documentation, serve as a key resource for problem resolution, and provide user support for all teammates who utilize Loan Accounting related systems.


Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Business Owner/Product Manager for complex Loan Accounting related software being developed or customized; including defining how the system will be built, guiding rules, prioritization and development of testing. Solicit input from stakeholders, determine prioritization of scope, set valuable release points, and communicate a compelling vision for the product for all teams engaged.

2. Act as a primary point of communication for various Loan Accounting systems. Regularly conduct demonstrations of the systems to explain and gain feedback on changes to the system. Develop training material, and conduct user training events. Make visible and explain the current priorities of the system, as well as what is next. Create all relevant product documentation. Answer questions regarding systems, procedures, processes and retail office operations. Activities include: responding to user feedback, researching issues, determining causes, taking resolution action and communicating results to user and support personnel.

3. Work with Loan Accounting leadership, teammates, customers, business partners, etc. to identify trends, risks and best practices in the trade credit market as they relate to technology advancements. Identify technology related process improvements and potential process efficiencies with a goal of maximizing the efficiency of Loan Accounting and retail teams. Work with key stakeholders to develop the overall business vision and scope.

4. Partner with IT for technology projects and ensure solutions meet business needs and objectives. Provide direction in project planning, actively participate and facilitate Agile Development Methodology, and ensure adequate business representation on the project. Lead production innovation by evaluating and incorporating best practices and obtaining regular input from business users. Assist in explanation of user stories and identification of system dependencies to IT teammates and participate throughout the development process to ensure requirements are met.

5. Participate in the development of test plans, along with defining expected results, and perform acceptance testing of changes in the system. Assist the technical team in preparing implementation and contingency plans.

6. Function as application administrator for loan accounting process technology systems. Update and/or make admin changes when appropriate. Coordinate enhancements, changes or upgrades with Information Services team members and support these efforts as needed. Provide ongoing dialogue with vendor representatives to provide awareness and priority of system modifications. Work with vendor representatives for system upgrades and ongoing support of loan accounting related tools.

7. Perform special studies and research projects related to Loan Accounting team activities as assigned by Loan Accounting leadership. Serve as a consultant or team member for cross-functional teams pulling from loan accounting business knowledge and technical expertise of both current systems and system changes yet to be implemented, to provide input and feedback as recommendations and decisions are made.

Additional functions of the position may include:
1. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or technology. A minimum of three years experience researching, analyzing and developing solutions with computer applications. Minimum of three to five years loan accounting related experience with Farm Credit System preferred. A working knowledge of the Farm Credit System and its rules/regulations is required.

  • Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Working knowledge of Account Access, Account Information, AgriPoint, SI, LoanIQ, BookPoint, Pinpoint, Relationship, Q2 Central, Metavante admin tool, Tran$Act and other key applications.
  • Working knowledge of regulations affecting the company (i.e. FCA, RECD, FSA and Consumer regulations).
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of FCSAmerica, particularly the marketplace sales and support job families, and the interrelationship of marketplace and Omaha teams and processes.
In addition to Loan Accounting leadership and teammates there will be extensive contact with FCSAmerica Information Technology, Retail, Business Applications Team , Business Resources, Legal, Risk/Compliance and Finance. External contacts will include equipment dealers, Farm Credit business partners and producer customers.

  • Ability to reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
  • Ability to travel by auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job.
  • Operates a computer and related peripheral equipment, telephone, laser printer, copier, fax machine and calculator proficiently, and performs repetitive motions for extended periods of time. This includes reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Ability to maintain a filing system by sorting, indexing and collating information.
  • Ability to move about the office with occasional lifting, reaching, and bending.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time to accomplish work at desk.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively demonstrate team building attitude and skills.
  • Proficient in Windows environment using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to complete work in an acceptable timeframe and manage a variety of detailed tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and with accuracy to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives and satisfy internal and external customer needs related to the job.
  • Ability to understand and explain various subject matter and consult on concepts, programs, terminology and methods.
  • Ability to operate the telephone and respond to calls and in-person inquiries.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and represent the organization to staff, officers, board members, customers, industry specialists, and the public at all levels.
  • Ability to use a keyboard/calculator/computer. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information.
  • Ability to use and understand various computer software related to carrying out essential responsibilities of the position.
