DATE Restaurant offers casual dining Modern American and Contemporary California Cuisine (B, L, D) ROCKS Lounge & Bar, featuring a wide array of specialty drinks and cocktails, appetizers, lunch menu and patio service. Poolside dining service. 15 meeting rooms with nearly 30,000 square feet of meeting space, 12,571 square foot Grand Ballroom, divisible into five sections accommodates up to 1,500 for banquets. 24,000 sq. ft. Courtyard with seating capacity with seating capacity for 2,500.

Job Description:
In conjunction with the valet, bellstand and front desk team, the Lobby Ambassador will help engage hotel guests to enhance the service experience by appropriately responding to guest requests for special arrangements or services (e.g., transportation, reservations, dry cleaning), Respond to special requests from guests with unique needs and follow up to ensure satisfaction.

Gather, summarize, and provide local area knowledge to inform guests about the property and the surrounding area amenities, including special events and local activities.

Essential Job Functions:
Greet all guests immediately with friendly and sincere welcome

Respond to all inquiries with accurate information regarding hours of operation of the hotel outlets, directions to local attractions or meeting rooms, car & airline services

Arranges and confirms recreation, business and dining activities both inside and outside the hotel.

Answer telephone calls and inputs messages into hotel computer system using PMS/Guestware software. Retrieve messages and communicates contents to guests.

Retrieve mail, small packages and fax for guest as requested

Be able to register any incoming guests using PMS system, make appropriate selection of guest rooms based on needs, make keys and confirm room number and rate.

Be able to respond to guest complaints, listen and assist in resolving problems as well as provide appropriate information in case of emergency. Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts

Marginal functions:
Assist in seating of guests in Rocks Lounge/DATE restaurant as needed

Assist with baggage delivery as needed

Job Knowledge, Skills and other requirements:
Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly

Able to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests and associates so as to respond accurately and completely to people to give directions, instructions, information, answer questions and provide service as required.

Stand and walk for long periods of time

Lift and carry heavy objects up to 20 lbs as needed

Be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures

Handle, reach, stretch, lift, climb, push, pull, bend, walk and stoop in order to continue with cleanliness and maintenance of great room (Lobby area)

Ability to access and accurately input information using moderately complex computer system including an Apple iPAD.

Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare mathematical calculations without error (example: make change, helping make purchases for guests)

High School graduate or equivalent required

1. At least 1 year of customer service experience required. At least 6 months of prior front desk or other prior hospitality experience preferred

2. Basic knowledge of local area attractions
