Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Keep lobbies and public areas clean.
- Clean the inside of all guest elevators several times daily.
- Clean and maintain all ashtrays and pick up trash.
- Vacuum in Food & Beverage outlets and shops.
- Clean Men’s restrooms in public areas.
- At times, it will be necessary to clean high places.
- Upon request, anything else that might arise.
- Check garage and lower lobby throughout the day.

Report maintenance deficiencies to supervisors immediately
Use “Wet Floor” signs when mopping any area
Maintain lobbies and bathrooms
Clean and collect debris from floor, furniture, plant beds, etc. Clean mirrors, floors, walls. Empty ashtrays and ashhurns
Clean all sinks, mirrors, vanities, toilets, stalls, walls, floors, and doors.
Replenish toilet paper and paper towels as needed.
Mop lobbies. Wax and buff lobbies
Thoroughly clean assigned bathrooms
Maintain garage areas
Maintain F&B outlets, back offices including but not ilimited to Front Office, Reservations, and PBX
Maintain Public Areas/Outlets
Bathroom cards must be dated and initialed with time of each service
Vacuuming should only be done when area is closed or during low traffic periods
Report all blown lights immediately
Report any security or maintenance problems immediately
Restrooms are to be checked and cleaned at regular intervals, with date/time/initials of houseman posted on identification card
Wet floor signs are to be posted when mopping
Any problems should be brought to the attention of the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately
Pick up and dispose of debris
Empty trash cans
Dust furniture and vacuum these areas daily
Mop Desire floor
Scrub and hose sidewalks
Check patio and pool area for debris
Vacuum carpet in Restaurant
Clean all men’s restroom urinals, toilets, mirrors, floors
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: H igh School Diploma preferred. Six months - one year housekeeping experience required. Customer service experience preferred.
Language Skills: Must be able to communicate with guests, customers, supervisor and fellow employees.
Mathematical Skills: Basic skills required.
Reasoning Ability : Must be able to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of cleaning public areas and guest rooms.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A
Physical Demands: Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. and/or lift 75lbs. Job requires repetitive kneeling, crouching, bending, and stooping. Must be able to effectively clean public areas and guest rooms. Must be able to stand and walk through the duration of a regular 8 or more hours shift.
Hours: Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time. Must be able to work rotating (swing) shifts (mornings and evenings).
