Local Marketing Coordinator

St. Louis, MO

Panera Bread is a specialty bakery café concept with unparalleled people and quality products offering careers as diverse as our breads. Panera is actively seeking a Local Marketing Coordinator to serve as a local marketing representative for the Panera brand in Company Joint Venture.

The Local Marketing Coordinator markets, creates and facilitates local marketing initiatives that ladder up to national marketing objectives. The position reports to Regional Marketing Managers and supports Joint Venture Partners and Joint Venture District Managers.

Responsibilities:
I.

Facilitate local execution of annual national key initiatives for Company Joint Venture markets

Work with local operators to plan and execute national field marketing initiatives and programs

Serve as a liaison for customers and external organizations partnered with Panera at the local level

Work with operators to evaluate, create and execute local marketing opportunities as the need arises

Provide analysis and reporting following initiatives and promotional activity during testing stage

Participate in the ongoing generation of business reviews, analyze local sales and transaction data and competitive activity, and consolidate and present findings to support local marketing strategy development

Provide on-going support for local execution of national media and loyalty programs including: assigning creative for radio and OOH plans, completing market media profile sheets, writing and submitting local social media copy, developing local content for MyPanera loyalty communication vehicles, and planning and overseeing the execution of MyPanera bakery-cafe customer engagement events

Serve as the local steward of the brand. Ensure all local marketing activities are aligned with established brand standards through the assessment of POP materials and appropriate brand and legal review for all locally developed marketing materials

Exhibit and live Panera’s cultural values and concept essence

II.

Develop, implement and oversee the execution of local marketing plans specific to new bakery-cafes (grand opening plans) and remodeled bakery-cafes (remodel plans) within the market

Work with operators to develop opening and remodel marketing plans as needed overseeing the execution of all grand opening marketing efforts

Order grand opening POP for new bakery-cafes

Work with local Community Breadbox partners to raise awareness for new locations

Work with PR Department to provide media support for grand openings, as needed

III.

Provide communications support to Regional Marketing Manager and act as Key Communicator to field support teams and bakery-cafes ensuring two-way communication between Operations and Marketing:

Assume responsibility for written communication, composition of meeting agendas/recaps and the organization and leadership of conference calls

Present information and provide recommendations to local operations team regarding key company initiatives at meetings

Serve as a conduit of information flow to Marketing Support Team providing feedback on field needs and best practice/idea sharing

IV.

Additional responsibilities:
Manage the local marketing budget – tracking, reporting and reconciliation of spending

Partner with field marketing team members on new program development to ensure the continued evolution of field marketing programs

Facilitate resolution of issues within local bakery-cafes related to POP and local marketing initiatives

Cultivate and maintain relationships to foster sharing of information and best practices

Qualifications

BA in Marketing, Communications or related field

3+ years of demonstrated professional growth in marketing or related field preferred

Marketing planning experience

Decision making ability – makes timely and quality decisions based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment

Strategic thinking and analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and external partners

Takes personal responsibility for the continuous learning of new knowledge, skills, business acumen and experiences

Multitasking skills

Budget management experience

Proficiency with basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Experience within the restaurant industry or related category preferred

Experience with community relations and/or partnership marketing preferred

Ability to travel outside of local market as requested (10-15%)
