This position is to be supervised by the Locksmith III position and is to provide primary locksmith duties when the Locksmith III position is not available. This is an essential position that will be required to report to work during periods of adverse weather and is subject to emergency callback at anytime. Normal working hours are Monday thru Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Performs the replacement of locks and cylinders that must be repaired by replacing worn parts or disassembled and salvaged for use in other similar items. On site repairs include removal of broken keys and other foreign debris inserted in lock and cylinders and lubricated, filing and adjustments. Helps with keys and access cards are produced for new issue or replacement of lost, damaged and worn keys for locks, lockers, desks, cabinets, padlocks as well as conventional lock cylinders. Ability to acquire skill in the performance of increasingly complex duties related to the performance of the locksmith trade. Ability to learn the uses and operations of various machines and tools commonly employed in the performance of a locksmith's duties. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of the practices and materials in the locksmith trade . Position requires a valid driver's license.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school or General Educational Development diploma and two years of experience in the repair or replacement of locks including experience in the layout of major keying systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Management prefers experience with door hardware including key duplication and lock repair.
