This position would be working onsite at a customer's facility in Charlotte, MI.
Account Managers have a crucial role in developing and maintaining a positive relationship between the client and England Logistics, Supply Chain Management. Account Managers will identify logistics areas for process improvement and cost savings for their clients and are responsible for carrier interfacing including but not limited to rate negotiations, assistance with claims and forecasting. Account managers analyze client data to deliver creative and dynamic solutions for our customers. Account Managers will be responsible for developing, analyzing and presenting solutions through collaboration with internal departments such as Business Development, Supply Chain Solutions, Finance and IT. Account Mangers will interact with all levels of business professionals within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze customer supply chain data
Create and present solutions
Assist in implementation process if overseeing a new client
Maintain current customer files and information guides in the England Logistics system
Set up ad-hoc shipments in the England Logistics system or coordinate carriers on dedicated shipments
Issue routing instructions on an as-needed basis / ensure they are maintained with current list of suppliers yearly
Oversee auditing for customers to ensure accuracy of information
Negotiate ad hoc rates with carriers or coordinate RFPs with the Supply Chain Solutions department as needed (lanes should be bid out once per year)
Analyze weekly / monthly / quarterly reports for cost savings opportunities
Update and work on project lists for each client on a monthly basis
Client visits and client presentations
Assist in training new employees as needed
Assist in resolving exception reports filed by clients as needed
Assist Finance department with customer requirements as needed
Follow carrier corrective action process when applicable
Participate in after-hours phone program (on call for emergencies, 1 week rotation)
Participate in advanced software programs as available (i.e. i2, EDGE BI, Mercury Gate)
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Potential opportunities for training / assisting new employees may become available at the discretion of the Senior Account Manager responsible for the team.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy, timeliness, and have a strong aptitude for detail. The individual must also excel in customer service, knowledge of the England Logistics system along with have the desire to help numerous departments of the company.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 1 year experience in related field.
The ideal candidate must have proficient in most Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. They must also possess the ability to learn the England Logistics system and related systems. A multilingual candidate or one that has experience in I2 or other transportation modelers is appreciated but, not required.
