Job Summary and Mission
Responsible for evaluating and performing financial analyses of 3PL/4PL and logistics processes, and identifying alternatives to promote operational efficiencies, cost reductions, and improvements. Provides proposal support, makes recommendations and assists with implementing solutions and programs. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Evaluate 3PL/4PL activities and identify potential opportunities for improvements, including analyzing carrier bids, rates, costs and mode comparisons utilizing various tariffs and rating engines.
Develop project proposals that effectively communicate the content and context of logistics solutions to the customer and internal marketing group.
Prepare presentations for senior management regarding the recommendations of various studies and projects.
Interface with applicable internal (company) and external (customer) departments to gather information and provide input on all matters affecting the measurement of logistics performance.
Create monthly carrier performance reports.
Analyze customer RFQ information and construct a response/proposal document.
Summary of Experience and Education
High School Graduate or GED required.
Bachelor's Degree in finance, statistics, or other business related discipline preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience and completion of the LDP Program.
Minimum two years related work experience.
Minimum one year industry experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic understanding of linear programming.
Strong financial analytical skills with experience in performing quantitative statistical analysis, simulation models, and mathematical models..
Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling and relating sets of numbers.
Ability to generate error-free reports, charts, and graphs.
Experience using logistics related software (PC Miller, TMS (Transportation Management Software), or warehouse management systems.
Knowledgeable of warehouse operations and freight/logistics optimization.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve results, or work independently with little or no supervision.
Ability to develop and document processes and procedures.
Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and presentation skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, gain credibility with senior management, and manage through conflict with a positive, flexible attitude and professionalism.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors.
Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job related software applications.
Licenses and Certifications
Travel is required at least 10% of the time. Travel identified is approximately 100% domestic (within the United States) and 0% international (outside of the United States).
