Work Schedules Available:
Daytime shift ( 40 hour work week) - Hours will flex and occasional weekend coverage may be needed

Department: Client Services

Reports To: Client Services Lead

Purpose of Position:
To become the first line of defense in protecting AFN and its clients’ business, through proactive tracking and tracing processes, increased communication, data integrity, and value added risk mitigation procedures.

Main Accountabilities:
1. Provide tracking & tracing services for all Full Truckload shipments to ensure on time pickup and delivery

Initiate and receive inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, and instant messages from internal and external clients regarding the load status of AFN shipments

Clarify the load requirements with the motor carrier and ensure driver has proper information (pick up & delivery requirements)

Utilize additional tracking methods through the use of AFN’s load management system to create efficiencies

Support risk mitigation initiatives by clarifying the validity of carrier information

Build a strong level of understanding of the load board by recognizing patterns and most efficient ways to track shipments

Update AFN’s load management system with all crucial information regarding High Value loads or OS&D issues

2. Deliver multi-level operational support for client shipments and transportation related services

Build a strong level of understanding of all AFN systems (load management system, Interactive Client, Gmail)

Provide support to the OS&D department by gathering detailed information from external carriers, customers, and internal representatives to quickly resolve shipment issues

Update & verify load management system with all crucial information regarding movement of any shipment (ie, tracking info, current status, appointment times, final charges, etc)

Ensure data integrity standards are highest priority on a daily basis

Maintain customer satisfaction and provide high quality service and work ethic while representing AFN

Provide back-up support as needed to other department team members to ensure complete client satisfaction according to AFN standards

Assist in the day to day utilization of the AFN Covert Tracking Device Program, and build strong internal and external relationships surrounding AFN’s risk management programs

3. Facilitate client issue resolution through proactive problem solving methods

Inform appropriate parties when a situation arises with a particular shipment

Handle client problems in accordance with AFN’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and escalate to appropriate business function as needed

Notify Procurement Representative, Customer Solutions Representative, or Customer Sales Representative when an immediate solution to an issue is not available or unknown

Follow up with both internal and external parties to ensure final resolution was completed

4. Fulfill other duties as required

Individual Qualifications

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred

Prior experience working in transportation preferred

3-5 years in a customer service, operations, or administrative role required

Prior experience providing outstanding customer service support required

Skills and Competencies

Strong written and verbal communication

Ability to multitask in a fast paced, changing environment

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Ability to problem solve under pressure

Strong organizational skills

Ability to apply logic when planning or solving problems

Ability to build strong business relationships with people at all levels of a business

Ability to perform general clerical and office duties
