The Logistics Engineer performs analysis on new, current, and past business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs new account rate analyses.
Determines rate quotes for current and new customers.
Reviews new account invoices for completeness and rate accuracy.
Performs biannual customer reviews on current customers to review contractual agreement and quality of service.
Performs reviews of customer agreements at the request of the customer.
Issues, updates, and tracks service agreements.
Makes amendments to service agreements as needed or required.
Enters new customer rates in ProTrack.
Creates and run customized customer reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Customer Relationship Management.
--Creates pricing models.
--Analyzes profitability of accounts by service type.
--Works with customers to achieve cost savings through efficiency gains.
--Works with Sales Consultants to make pricing adjustments when necessary.
--Analyzes cost data from operations system to identify opportunities for savings.
--Analyzes impact of price increases or adjustments from transportation suppliers.
--Reviews impact on profitability for various projects.
--Works in conjunction with IS department to design and implement system improvements.
Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Industrial Engineering or related field.
Three to five years experience in supply chain optimizatin and access database programming is necessary.
Candidate needs to have outstanding computer skills including all MS Office (particularly MS Access). Candidate must be able to develop databases to support customer requirements.
Superior analytical and communication skills are necessary to ensure success in this position.
