Description

Primary Function of Position:
Provide leadership, technical and administrative mentoring across interdepartmental boundaries as related to spare parts support of minimally invasive robotic surgical equipment support. This key management role will be challenged to effectively lead the Logistics Department resources required to support business growth demands and support installed equipment in the field. Proven experience achieving results through others and managing wide range of individuals required. Track record in a medium to large-scale medical device manufacturing preferable.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate and mentor Logistics team responsible for spare parts shipments and storage in storage locations

Select, evaluate and manage storage locations for spare parts support

Set up monitoring and reporting system providing detailed shipment information

Set up reporting systems for distributor supplies, procedures, install base and/or other data related to the distributor management

Monitor performance of 3PL providers including on time shipments, shipment cost and overall performance of the 3PL provider

Monitor and address all issues related to the performance of the 3PL, use Track It database to develop Pareto diagrams and actions plans to address 3PL problems

Provide 3PL utilization training for Customer Service and Field Service organization

Successful project execution and utilization of project management tools (Gantt charts)

Support and manage Logistics Team executing following tasks:
Assume responsibility for the OUS database updates for spare parts support section

Support Planning Dept to maintain appropriate Customer Support Inventory levels and help managing proper usage of the 3PL resources (shipping methods)

Support related FRU planning/forecasting activities in support of World Wide Service Logistics and corresponding forecast/approval process

Drive daily monitoring of shipping activities

Support maintaining inventory integrity throughout all distribution points

Manage part request fulfillment 3PL infrastructure to ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintained at the highest possible levels (i.e. user request, order management, warehousing management, distribution services)

Support approved ISI Distributors who perform technical services on ISI manufactured products

Provide business tools and training to facilitate Distributor communications related to servicing activities

Actively participate on cross-functional teams as a CSG representative to drive department needs

Develop and maintain effective measurements to monitor progress and evaluate opportunities for improvement

Maintain department operating procedures (DOPs) and work instructions. Perform other projects or duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements:
(Competency is based on: education, training, skills and experience.) In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must have:

Managerial experience 8 to 10 years, proven leadership and motivational skills

Bachelor degree and 8 to 10 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Understanding of Service Logistics, Customer Service, Field Service, Production Planning, Materials management, RMA processing, and Quality & Regulatory Affairs operational and informational needs

Previous work experience in the aforementioned disciplines with emphasis on Service Logistics and Field Service support (prior work experience with a medical equipment manufacturer is desirable)

Knowledge of general manufacturing practices is desirable

Understanding of Business Information Systems (i.e. SAP, Clarify, Agile) and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

Able to work independently in a fast paced environment with little supervision

Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven ability to manage projects
