Responsible for the management of forward and reverse logistics operations.
Coordinate receipt of in-bound import and domestic receipts and subsequent distribution to destinations that include: customer distribution centers, intermediary distribution hubs, and customer sites. Interface with central order management function, and regional sales and support personnel, for flawless supply execution.
Lead lean six sigma improvement projects in the logistics function, driving continuous improvement.
Direct, lead, and develop warehouse and logistics staff.
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely tracking and delivery of Samsung networking equipment to support annual build plans and on-going customer requirements.
Manage inventory control function, maintaining daily inventory accuracy goals with continual improvement.
Lead the reverse logistics function to include RMAs, repair logistics and service part sales.
Manage hardware RMA support in accordance with specific customer service contracts.
Coordinate forward logistics to meet both repetitive product shipments, and project based field deployment schedules.
Ascertain industry/logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs to differentiate company in the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction.
Ensure that service partners meet or exceed customer requirements for all logistics operations, including service and repair.
Drive the design, development, implementation and management of logistics solutions.
Prepare and recommend operating and personnel budgets. Monitor spending adherence to budget.
Root cause analysis and problem resolution for all logistics operations.
Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
Monitor and correct the performance of logistics service providers, 3PLs, carriers, and vendors, driving improvements in performance.
Implement and manage robust cycle counting system.
Working with various parties, including field support and customer service, ensures support plans are in place to maintain long-term customer relationships.
Execute disposition of aging, obsolete, defective, and rework.
Support engineering change control (ECN) and new product launch activities.
Produce various periodic and ad hoc reports including customer order backlog, receipts, premium freight, shipments, and on-hand inventory.
Develop ERP reporting to track key process indicators (KPI) and manage business processes.
Produce forecasted logistics requirements based on sales forecast and business plan.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business or industrial management from a four-year college.
4-8 years' experience using an ERP system (SAP preferred) for all supply chain management functions.
4-8 years hands-on experience leading logistics activities for telecommunications or other high-tech industry.
APICS CPIM certification a plus.
Ability to develop and maintain excellent leadership skills, including proactive employee, co-worker, and customer working relationships at all appropriate levels, within and outside the company.
Ability to provide clarification and understanding and to influence others in accepting and approving ideas and plans.
Ability to manage, plan, organize, assign, schedule, and prioritize multiple work assignments and projects as directed, to achieve company objectives.
High level of competency in oral, listening, and written modes of communication for persuasion and/or communication of technical information both internally and externally.
Ability to manage supply chain customer service support, order management, and logistics employees to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established timeframes.
Demonstrated ability to develop clearly defined worker objectives and time schedules, and provide specific functional direction with an implied knowledge of task alternatives and decision-making experience to guide incumbents to meet deadlines, schedules, and accurate performance.
Must be analytical and process oriented, with the ability to utilize data for strategic improvement.
Work generally performed in a warehouse, electronics repair shop, or office environment.
Requires some movement and transportation of supplies and materials up to 25 pounds.
Performs work under time schedules and stresses which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive job stress, fatigue, unpaid over-time, intellectual challenge, and language barriers.
Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids (such as safety equipment) that are representative and commonly associated with warehouse and electronic test work.
Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal more than 50% of work time, including periods of prolonged use.
High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills performing work within a physically mobile environment.
High numeric and character detail distinction and moderately high visual acuity for the preparation of documents and information.
Occasionally works additional hours beyond normal schedule.
Travel to vendors, customers, or STA sites are approximately 25%.
