[60076988/82436] Position is located at the Sampson County Laundry in Clinton, NC and is responsible for delivering and picking up linens. Employee will verify basket, cart and bundle counts of soiled and clean linens and complete necessary paperwork. Employee will also be required to fill in for other positions as needed. DOT physical and drug test required as well as extensive driving record check. Must possess ability to make sound decisions in case of emergency, breakdown, etc. Employee must be able to work wearing personal protective equipment and follow all DPS and OSHA safety regulations. Selective criteria: applicants must possess CDL class "A" license. All DPS employees may be subject to reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Essential job functions include: operate large vehicles (tractor trailer), small delivery vans and/or trucks for extended period in various road, weather and traffic conditions during various times of day in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. Requires NC and CDL licenses. Effectively communicate with staff, inmates and customers regarding loading and delivery of enterprise products. Supervise the loading of trucks and trailers to ensure proper weight distribution. Maintain security of cargo and ensure cargo is delivered in good condition. Maintain safety of vehicle and minimum security inmate passengers. Prepare records related to vehicle operations and deliveries. Perform minor vehicle maintenance to include checks of fluid levels, tire pressure and ensure that lights are in proper working condition. Prepare itinerary and read map in order to deliver products. Lift and move 100 pounds of solid weight in a timely manner.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school graduation and a minimum of two years of experience in the operation of a tractor-trailer unit transporting goods and equipment; or certification from a recognized tractor-trailer driving school and one year of experience in the operation of a tractor-trailer unit; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Special requirements - possession of a current and valid North Carolina class a CDL license and any necessary hazardous material certifications required.
