Job Description
The responsibility of the Rehab Clerk is to provide administrative support for the therapy department, which includes Physical, Occupational, Respiratory and Speech Therapy. Administrative support can include scheduling, billing, insurance verification, organizing, ordering supplies, equipment and all necessary forms, answering the phone, communicating with the team, creating documentation to distribute for communication, cleaning therapy equipment in the clinical area, and keeping the office/desk space clean and orderly. The Rehab Clerk can complete filing of therapy documentation in the resident medical record and therapy department as needed. The rehab clerk will function as a team member of the therapy department and complete any other additional tasks as delegated by the Director of Rehab or designee. Minimum or Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Professional and constructive communication skills. Medical Terminology preferred. Must be able to operate general office equipment. Must know or be able to learn all computer programs related to Therapy Department functions. One year clerical experience, preferably in a health care setting required. Successful completion of a typing assessment – 40 wpm with accuracy, data entry assessment and Microsoft Word assessment.
