Job Summary

The Loss Prevention Manager is responsible for delivering high quality and effective audit services along with executing audits focused on operational, system
and financial controls, asset safeguarding, loss prevention, Workers’ Compensation, and compliance with policy, laws and regulations. The position will work with the finance, operations and risk teams to develop cafe level audit plans, develop, prepare and distribute reporting to field and Home Office management.

Key Performance Elements/Essential Functions Qualifications
  • Develop and implement with Operations, Restaurant Accounting and People Resources departments standardized audit procedures and plans with an emphasis on areas of loss and risk
  • Maintain knowledge of standard cafe processes and help develop best practices
  • Perform on-site cafe audits at all cafes quarterly. Perform follow up audits of cafes identified as needing the most improvement
  • Review and analyze activities and records to determine compliance with company policies and procedures. Perform investigations
    in conjunction with Home Office teams associated with loss detection at the cafe level
  • Prepare audit reports to record and summarize audit procedures performed. Develop recommendations and proposals for
    corrective action/ improvement
  • Ensure that all follow-up recommendations are performed in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with all cash, check, gift card, credit card and related documentation
  • Report on cafe compliance with all laws and standards related to safety and labor laws
  • Initiate and conduct confidential investigations involving company assets and employees
  • Participate in development of reporting tools to identify potential theft
  • Closely monitor statistical data relating to the stores’ inventory, accidents, injuries, cash handling,
    comps, voids, etc.
Education / Training
  • 5 years of audit or equivalent experience in monitoring internal control systems
  • 5 years of restaurant or retail experience in a management role
  • Loss prevention/ fraud investigation experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Access, data analytics)

  • Translate knowledge and experience into practical solutions
  • Exhibit excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Strong business and common sense
  • Effective communicator who is able to work with executive management and directors. Ability to clearly articulate key issues and recommended actions
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive discussions
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Ability to teach, coach, and train personnel to drive change and execute process improvements
  • Results oriented with a high level of integrity and dependability along with strong sense of urgency. Effectively handles sensitive or confidential information
  • Extensive travel required (90%)
