Our client is seeking a Lotus Notes Administrator at their offices New York City. This is a full time, permanent position paying an annual salary of $65-80K plus bonus.
Position Overview:
The Lotus Notes Administrator*s role is to ensure the stable operation of in-house e-mail messaging systems and their corresponding hardware and software. This includes planning,
developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network connections and communication links. This person will also analyze and resolve end-user messaging
program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where required. This person will also support the setup of additional Notes databases to use in
the organization for cross-departmental workflows and information flow and sharing.
All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Functional Responsibility:
Strategy and Planning
Assess needs for any messaging system reconfigurations and execute them as required
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use
Create 1st level trouble shooting documentation for helpdesk staff
Acquisition and deployment
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure e-mail software, products, and services.
Assist in migration projects to newer versions of Lotus Notes, as necessary.
Operational Management
Manage and administer all e-mail messaging systems and their corresponding or associated software and hardware.
Install, configure, and initiate Lotus Notes/Domino servers, software, and any other corresponding equipment.
Provide limited on-call technical support for end users.
Set and administer server storage space allotments, resource reservations, and directory assistance.
Monitor and analyze e-mail system activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability. Monitor and test e-mail server software performance and provide statistics and
reports.
Analyze e-mail system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity.
Administer and maintain Lotus Notes database, antivirus management, and error log tracking.
Identify and resolve problems affecting messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
Maintain and troubleshoot mail routing, replication, thresholds, POP3 clients, and dead-letter files
Add, remove, certify, and move new or existing end-user accounts and administer permissions and access rights.
Administer messaging systems access and support efforts for remote users.
Create private and public mailing folders and lists, calendaring services, address books, and shared mail applications
Where necessary, provide end-user training and support through verbal and/or written communications
BES / RIM interaction
Ensure proper setup of BES Server / Notes integration
Maintain BES landscape that allows for synchronization of mails, contacts, memos, task list etc.
Decision Making Responsibility
Recommend and select vendors / systems and solutions for proper Lotus Notes integration in overall organization workflow.
Oversee and control bidding process, vendor selection and ready-to execute proposal preparation and pricing.
Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure e-mail software, products, and services
Position Requirements
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Associate degree with proven track record of expertise will be considered as well.
Minimum Years Experience Required:
Minimum 5-8 years of experience working in the IT environment, with a strong focus on Lotus Notes administration and implementation.
Proven experience with Lotus Notes administration with 5+ years experience
Knowledge/Skills:
Working technical knowledge of e-mail server, program, and platform operating systems (MS Windows).
Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
Experience with database management.
Good understanding of the organization*s goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Ability to conduct research into e-mail software issues and products as required.
Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and directed.

Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
