Follow machine operations procedures according to written drawings, prints or verbal orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Perform machine set-up without assistance.
Diagnose process problems.
Read and interpret precision measuring instruments.
Setting up and operating conventional machinery without assistance.
Down load program from computer to machine.
Machining acme, stub acme, "V" thread, round and buttress threads.
To furnish their own basic precision measuring tools.
Follow shop safety standards.
Follow company Quality Control standards.
Complete required paperwork.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years CNC experience. Advanced knowledge of CNC programming principles. Ability to distinguish between different metals used in process. Working knowledge of basic metal cutting principles. Basic knowledge of tooling nomenclature. 2 years experience operating both conventional lathes and mills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Typical machine shop environment including exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, powered rotating equipment, shavings, chips, dust, fumes, chemicals and noise. Safety glasses with side shields and steel toed boots/shoes required to be worn at all times. Face shield when required.
