Job Description:
Maintain and repair existing wiring and electrical circuits. Install wiring, fixtures and ballast. Locate and correct power failures and short circuits.

Repair and or replace plumbing systems or the components thereof as assigned. Repair or replace worn or damaged Faucets, flush valves, urinals, and water closets.

Work hours M-F 7am – 3:30pm.

A criminal background screening and a pre-employment health assessment will be conducted.

Performs skilled work in repairs to furniture, cabinets, windows, screens, floors, ceilings, stairs, structures, equipment & all related work. Install ceiling tiles & grid. Install flooring (vinyl sheeting and tile), wall base, chair rails, molding around doors, windows and cabinets, crown molding, etc.

Performs renovation work & repairs to existing structures (installing or relocating doors, windows, walls, flooring, etc.). Install & repair doors, mortise locks, latches, hinges, exit devices, door closures (L.C.N. handicap door systems), door vents, glass door panels, etc. ), perform maintenance as needed to the interior and exterior walls & floors with the proper masonry materials. Repair, replace and install ceramic tile.

Perform preventative inspections on but not limited to, all building classrooms, equipment, entrance doors, etc. to include monthly generated preventive maintenance reports.

Assists custodial staff employees in minor cleaning of halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gym areas, locker rooms, elevators, and stairwells etc… By performing task including, but not limited to: sweeping, dusting, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, spot-mopping, emptying and cleaning waste and recycle bins, cleaning water fountains, door matting and spot washing and cleaning of walls, doors, and partitions.

Minimum Requirements:
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of: Principles & techniques of the skilled building trades or mechanical and repair work, safety procedures & requirements in maintenance & repair work. Skill in: using hand tools & equipment.
Ability to: perform a variety of skilled trade functions, read blueprints, follow verbal and written instructions, plan, organize & coordinate work assignments, communicate verbally.

Employee is required to complete 2-4 hour custodial training session (including seven step bathroom procedures, green cleaning, safety training.)
Employee is required to complete a floor care and hard surfaces & carpet training program.
Employee is required to complete a seven step cleaning procedures, classroom and safety training.
Must be capable of working independently without assistance.
