Administers the elevator contract. Monitors the elevators, chairlifts, dumbwaiters, dock lifts, stair glides, escalators, and stage lifts for all the units under the elevator contract. Performs inspections on all units for compliance for all safety, ADA , and elevator codes. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all elevator units. Maintains all records for all elevator related equipment.
Reviews engineering drawings, available standards and historical data and accepted trade practices. Reviews the E&G standards for the Building Maintenance Department and makes updates as needed. Inspects job performance to make sure that the work complies with the Facilities standards for all construction projects. Coordinates with Physical Plant units and other U of F departments concerning customer requirements and/or problems. Attends all project meetings for new construction and renovation projects.
Inspects buildings and other structures, which may include but is not limited to structural and related equipment for work completed as needed. Administers the painting and floor-finishing contract. Schedules meetings with companies under contract with Facilities.
Provides field assistance on special projects for new installations, repairs and inspections, a few examples are listed as follows: store front doors, roof fire/smoke hatches, theatre equipment (rigging, ropes, etc,), seating, fall protection, scheduling training, etc.
Drives a state vehicle that requires a valid Driver License.
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
