The Selective Service System is an independent agency whose mission is to maintain a system which can promptly and efficiently furnish untrained manpower for induction into the Armed Forces during a national emergency; and provides an Alternative Service Program to men classified as conscientious objectors during a draft.

As a Management Analyst, in the Data Management Center (DMC), Operations Directorate, Selective Service System, you will analyze and assist in managing the Center's functions and programs.

    KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Suitability for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.

DUTIES:
  • Assists management in coordinating and monitoring the production and quality of all the Data Management Center's activities.
  • Conducts analytical studies to evaluate the Center's operations.
  • Evaluates reports and recommends solutions to management on program areas in need of improvement.
  • Coordinates and implements projects relating the Data Management Center operations.
  • Briefs management on program activities.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: GS-12: You must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, that included: coordinating and implementing program activities; evaluating automated data processing practices and recommending changes; analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; and communicating information and findings on program operations and recommending solutions to program issues.
