You will act as a dedicated resource for developing relationships with industry analysts from Gartner, IDC, Forrester and Tier 1 Research. Your goal will be to provide them with product information, case studies, and sales successes, helping them to understand Digital Realty, our capabilities, and where we’re going so that the analysts become advocates for us.

Part of your role will be to attend marketing events and conferences. You’ll also complete tracking and reporting internally, including to senior management, Sales and Marketing, on research and industry trends identified by the research community. You’ll complete ongoing monitoring of research, including reading, summarizing, and sharing the information with relevant stakeholders. The research may come from the analyst firms whom we’ve paid, but you’ll also actively seek information that covers data centers or our customers’ industries.

Though you’ll have some high-level direction based on overall goals, and some check-in points and guidance, you’ll mostly decide on your own how to best spend your time. You’ll work by phone and email for a good part of each day, but you’ll also attend meetings with key analysts. You may be asked to work on special projects to provide research for certain markets as needed, or to help build webinars with industry analysts and key subject matter experts within the company.

Your key objectives will be to:
  • Provide a key link between industry analysts and internal marketing or corporate executives.
  • Influence industry analysts with positive company messages that will lead to highly qualified business opportunities.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include:
  • Working with the marketing team and SMEs to secure positive analyst reports, and to deliver quality information to analysts
  • Establishing an internal communications program/platform to provide relevant research information to senior management, Sales, and Marketing to enhance revenues
  • Working with analyst firms to complete research reports and whitepapers
  • Establishing processes for ongoing communication and education of industry analysts
  • Facilitating analyst briefings and interviews during specific events
  • Securing analyst quotes for press releases
  • Preparing analyst briefing tours, presentations, and documents
  • Overseeing budget, analysis and recommendations for purchased analyst research services
  • Supporting the corporate communications team in other PR-related programs and activities
  • Responding to analyst inquiries, monitoring briefings, ensuring that deliverables are provided and suggesting research topics
  • Developing and monitoring an analyst report calendar for coverage potential
  • Facilitating information exchange with outside PR firm(s)
Note: this description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.

Industry analysts could potentially influence our revenues, so you’ll need to call on your corporate and product marketing background paired with excellent communication skills to influence the analysts. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have a firm grasp of the target markets, and a strong understanding of corporate positioning and product messaging.

The ideal candidate for this role will be professional, polished, and personable in all communication. You’ll need good time management and organizational skill to build the program from the ground up with little direction. If you are energetic, have a strong sense of urgency to complete your tasks, and can work in a fast-paced environment, then we’d like to hear from you.
