Reporting to the Senior Director Operations, the Manager, Business Operations works in collaboration with the SDO and oversees the management of budget and accounting services to provide budget analyses for the development of sound financial reporting, long-range forecasting, and strategic financial planning, and development and implementation of new products and services. The MBO manages the day to day operations of the NICHE business office and reconciles all to the university accounting systems. This role is key to the expansion and sustainability of this rapidly growing organization with over 350 member hospitals and health care organizations, and 14,000 individual members. NICHE operates within NYU and is funded through program services revenue. NICHE has expanded rapidly over the past 5 years and we expect continued rapid growth over the next 3 to 5 years.
Qualifications/Required Education
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education
MBA, MPA, or other relevant degree
Required Experience
5 years' relevant professional level experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with budget management, restricted fund accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a healthcare, non profit, or higher education environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines. Strong knowledge of spreadsheet applications and financial software packages. Quickbooks or other accounting software as well as large institutional fund accounting software needed.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Salesforce.com a plus. The ability to handle cloud computing management and integration of systems a plus. Knowledge of sponsored research guidelines and fund accounting software
