Overview: The Regional Sales Manager is a field based position with overall responsibility for driving commitment and accountability of a sales team to achieve or exceed sales financial goals. This team consisting of Sales Specialist and Account Managers whose primary responsibility is to maintain and grow existing base business as well as developing new opportunities across all product lines. The product categories include Chemistry, Immunochemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Molecular, and Blood Gas.
This position is open to candidates living in Northern California. The territory includes Northern California, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

The Regional Sales Manager reports to the Vice President Sales for the Western Zone, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

Responsibilities: Hire, train, inspire, lead and develop high potential Account Managers and Capital Equipment Specialists. Work closely in the field with all direct reports on a regular basis in order to help identify, pursue and win business opportunities. Identify and monitor developmental plans for representatives' sales performance and career goals. Provide timely, direct and honest feedback on representatives' current strengths, as well as areas that need improvement. Develop and execute plans to improve performance throughout the area; and identify and develop candidates for additional responsibility/promotion within the company. Handle all regional administrative tasks, including forecasts, expense reports, financial reviews, and other duties in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Work closely with Regional Service Director, Technical Applications Manager, Zone Corporate Account Manager and Customer Business Manager to increase customer satisfaction.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, Experience: Education: BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas. Knowledge and Experience: Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and basic knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact. Demonstrates understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically 8+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, Experience: High degree of business acumen to include standard competencies (financial, market positioning, healthcare industry, and customer), in order to make sound decisions. Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues. Ability of develop an understanding of product knowledge on all product lines. 6 - 10 years of successful sales experience; strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, capital selling skills, laboratory and/or diagnostics background preferred; experience in people management highly desired.
