This exceptional individual will provide leadership in the planning, coordination, and evaluation of Bridgeport H ospital Foundation fundraising events. Working with Foundation and Hospital staff as well as community volunteers, the Coordinator ensures that all events advance the Foundation 's objective of identifying and c ultivating individual and organizational major gift prospects. S/he is also the principal conduit through which all e vent planning communications are handled. EDUCATION : High school diploma with 7-10 years progressive industry experience or post-secondary degree in a related field (preferably Marketing, Public or Community Relations) and 3-5 years progressive experience in events p lanning/management. EXPERIENCE : Experience in special events planning, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. The ability to work well independently on several projects concurrently, and possess excellent communication, o rganizational and creative thinking skills. Attention to detail is imperative. Experience in planning and i mplementing events; proven track record in developing and implementing promotion plans; print production e xpertise associated with fundraising events. Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and d atabase management is required. Extensive experience working with executives, donors and volunteers and m anaging, supervising and orienting people for events. Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication w ith marketing and communications skills; media relations experience is an asset. Experience in developing and m anaging budgets and tracking finacial performance of Special Event activity. Strong initiative and customer s ervice orientation; volunteer management skills and experience. Demonstrated high energy level and flexibility, p leasant personality coupled with sound judgment; flexible, discreet and able to maintain confidential information, k nowledge of correct protocol for specific situations. SPECIAL SKILLS: A bility to keep current with trends in event strategy in support of Bridgeport Hospital and personal professional development by participating in conferences, workshops and other training opportunities. Ability to bring energy, c reativity and community relations expertise that will make a substantial impact on Bridgeport Hospital while e nhancing the image and positive relationships of the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation. Ability to multi-task, and a p roven ability to meet goals are core requirements to ensure a professional execution of all related special events . Must be a team player, and have the ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in a fast-paced, h igh-performance environment.
