Genomic Health is a life science company focused on the development and commercialization of genomic-based clinical laboratory services for cancer that allow physicians and patients to make individualized treatment decisions. Genomic Health was founded in 2000 and is located in Redwood City, California.

The Manufacturing Associate will be working in a reagent manufacturing operation, using his or her manufacturing experience to ensure the consistent quality and uninterrupted supply of critical components to GHI’s Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities:
Manufacture reagents that will be used by GHI’s Clinical Laboratory, Development, and Research departments.
Complete Manufacturing Batch Records following established documentation procedures.
Recognize deviation from accepted practice and document appropriately.
Use automated laboratory equipment to manufacture reagents.
Responsible for routine maintenance of general equipment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records.
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the Manufacturing department processes and procedures.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and non-laboratory personnel

Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in a Life Science discipline plus 5 years of relevant industrial experience in a robust manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions in a manufacturing laboratory.
Exercises high-quality judgment within defined practices and policies and has the ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing setting.
Experience in a regulated setting (i.e. cGMP, QSR, ISO9000, etc) is extremely desirable.
Automation, LIMS, and data management systems experience preferred.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills coupled with a strong desire to work in a dynamic interdisciplinary environment are essential.
Strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed.
Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner.
Able to prioritize and drive to results with a high emphasis on quality.
Ability to work as part of a team.

Travel, Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Travel Requirements: No Travel
Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary.
Some lifting (greater than 25 pounds) may be necessary.
May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high speed centrifugation .
Repetitive manual pipetting may be necessary.
