SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION WITHIN DEPARTMENT:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the manufacturing and packaging operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and supervises the nightly activities of manufacturing and packaging staff to ensure optimum efficiency of the Swing shift.
Reviews all production documentation, sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with Day shift supervisors.
Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical and product-related issues as they arise.
May be required to set-up and/or run machines as necessary to maintain shift productivity.
May assist in reviewing experimental and/or production drawings/designs for manufacturability.
Maintains adequate inventory of supplies used in daily production activities including personal protective equipment.
Trains, supervises and reviews performance of all subordinate personnel.
Instructs machine operators on the safe operation, care and handling of machines, tools and supplies.
Performs departmental safety training for all subordinate personnel.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED:
In-depth knowledge of work processes and tools as they relate to medical device manufacturing and packaging.
Experience with cleanroom operations highly desirable.
Knowledge of cGMP's required.
Computer literacy a must. Experience with CAD/CAM, MRP and basic office software a plus.
Thorough knowledge of metalworking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Describe the specific physical requirements necessary to accomplish the essential job functions. i.e. - ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, lifting requirements, audio/visual requirements etc.)
Ability to lift 75 lbs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: (Typical pattern of education and experience which would provide the knowledge and skills indicative of successful job performance.)
Bachelor's degree required.
Requires minimum 3-5 years Supervisory experience in a medical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industry.
Ability to coach and/or train subordinates in their specific job functions.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: (Safety, regulatory compliance, legal and job specific)
Injury and Illness Prevention Program; annually - OSHA requirement
Job Specific - In house requirements as necessary
Will supervise all manufacturing staff on the Swing shift, including Machine Shop and Packaging departments.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
INTERFACE: (Internal/External Customers)
Management - for Company direction.
Manufacturing day shift Supervision - for production priorities.
Subordinate staff - to give direction.
