About This Position
The Marketing Specialist coordinates and implements marketing, advertising and public relations plans and programs for Dignity Health of the Central Coast. This includes, but is not limited to, marketing campaign creative development and implementation for all media platforms including web, direct mail, print, radio, television, social media; researching, writing and disseminating news releases; writing for hospital publications including brochures, magazines, newsletters, flyers; responding to public information/news media inquiries; coordinating special events, outreach programs and tours; and acting as a hospital spokesperson.
A minimum of two years work experience in media relations or marketing/communications.
Media relations or marketing/communications work experience preferably in a healthcare setting
Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations or equivalent required.
Knowledge of media relations, including standard practice in the dissemination of information and the coordination of staff response for story development
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Public speaking, including interpersonal/interaction with media and public
Time management and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to apply these in various situations
Computer literacy, with demonstrated fluency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word
