Summary:
Reporting to the Director Marketing, Communications, Public & Media Relations, the Marketing Strategist is responsible for the development and implementation of promotion plans for hospital-based programs and services. Develops proactive communication strategies to increase market share and profitability for hospital business. Works directly with internal staff to analyze communication needs, determine plan strategies and design effective comprehensive communications products and programs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Oversees the production aspects of marketing and advertising materials. Tracks and evaluates effectiveness and ROI of plans. Serves as copywriter for directional and other marketing materials. Responsible for driving the UCH brand and ensuring materials meet brand standards.

Job Duties:

Maintains competency to provide the care and services as it applies to the department's patient/customer population and as defined in the department's Scope of Service document.

Delivers successful service to our internal and external customers by adhering to critical success standard, demonstrating accountability and commitment to quality and safety standards; taking ownership in the financial success of the hospital with appropriate resource use and management; providing exceptional customer service; and exerting effort to insure a positive work environment that demonstrates dedication to the hospital’s mission, vision and values.

Identifies and prioritizes hospital-based programs and services that generate revenue. Then, in conjunction with the respective program/service hospital management, develops comprehensive promotion plans, including research, action plans, budgets, and evaluation components. Seeks media opportunities for hospital-based programs.

Project management; creates and maintains production schedules and timelines. Coordinates internal marketing efforts with employee communications staff. Responsible for knowing and demonstrating National Patient Safety standards. Participates in department-based activities and initiatives to improve and ensure a safe environment.

Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct. Oversees the production of collateral pieces and advertising. Prepares monthly progress reports for program/service management and supervisor.

Develops and maintains relationships with out-of-house design and publication resources. Selects and manages external consultants and services to produce successful products and communications. Maintains the overall creative standards and policies established for the hospital’s marketing materials. Ensures consistent use of brand and logos.

Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Marketing

Minimum Experience : Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a corporation.
